Recently, residents of the capital of Kyrgyzstan noticed the ongoing facade renovation work on the Kyrgyz State Institute of Physical Culture, which is a monument of architecture of national significance.

Local residents express concerns that the current work may negatively affect the historical appearance of the building, raising questions about the legality of what is happening.

According to the city residents, they have already sent a request to the Ministry of Culture to find out whether these works were approved and whether the necessary permits were obtained. According to current legislation, any changes, including insulation and installation work on objects that have the status of a monument of architecture, must receive approval from the relevant ministry and experts.

Preserving the historical appearance of the building is a mandatory requirement of the law, and any interventions must take into account the norms for the protection of cultural heritage.

Residents also remind that one of the graduates of this institute, who became the President of the Kyrgyz Republic in 1992, may respond to this situation. They hope that he will pay attention to this problem and initiate an inspection to protect this important historical object.
