According to information from the mayor's office, the city leader instructed the immediate resumption of road work, with an emphasis on completing the asphalt laying within the established deadlines.
Among the mayor's instructions:
- to continue the implementation of all major infrastructure projects in the southern capital, even with insufficient funding;
- to demolish illegal structures that hinder road construction;
- to widen sidewalks and create safe conditions for pedestrians.
He added that delays in construction negatively affect the interests of the population.
“I was appointed to this position seven days ago, and I am here every week. The work is at a standstill. We do not have the right to abandon a project that has already begun. Even if we have to use our own resources, we are obligated to complete it. This is critically necessary to improve the transportation situation,” noted the mayor of Osh.
Akayev also emphasized that, thanks to the support of the president, the city received equipment from a special fund, which will expedite the construction process and address the issue of prolonged repairs.
Furthermore, he added that negotiations with the owners of houses slated for demolition will continue, but “none of the ongoing projects will be halted.”
