In Kyrgyzstan, half of the new mortgage apartments will be provided through shared construction
The head of the sales department of the State Mortgage Company (GIK), Kylchbek Keldibekov, reported that 50% of all apartments being put into operation will be available through the shared construction mechanism. He noted that the common belief that the transfer of a thousand apartments automatically means that a thousand people will receive housing is erroneous.
“Citizens who do not have their own housing can receive an apartment out of turn, provided they pay 50% of its cost. The funds received will be used to accelerate construction work, which allows us to provide citizens with housing more quickly,” Keldibekov explained.
According to him, in addition to shared construction, there are three main directions:
- “Preferential mortgage,” intended for public sector employees,
- “Affordable mortgage,” aimed at people working in the private sector,
- “Social mortgage” for citizens in vulnerable situations.
Keldibekov clarified that out of the 1000 apartments being put into operation, 500 will be offered through shared construction, while the remaining 500 will be distributed according to the specified directions.
“Since the resources allocated by the state are insufficient, we have implemented this mechanism. Thus, we strive for half of the apartments put into operation to be provided specifically through shared construction,” he added.
The GIK representative also noted that thanks to shared construction, the active construction of mortgage houses continues in the country.
