Andrey Malakhov cried upon seeing singer Aya from the band "Gorod 312"

Difficult times forced her to leave the stage for three years

Svetlana Nazarenko, better known as Aya, the lead singer of the popular band "Gorod 312," revealed details for the first time about a difficult period in her life when she had to leave the stage for three years.

In the program "Privet, Andrey!" she spoke about the reasons for her long absence, which was caused by a severe stroke following a series of illnesses. Her touching story brought TV host Andrey Malakhov to tears.

Aya suffered four episodes of COVID-19, which led to a blood clot detachment and ultimately a stroke. In critical condition, she was urgently hospitalized, where doctors managed to save her life, but the left side of her body became paralyzed. Rehabilitation took a long time, and even now, years later, her left arm barely functions. On the show, she gratefully recalled those who supported her during the hardest times.

“I had caregivers — those very nurses who come when you are in intensive care, completely paralyzed. <…> Thank you, my dear girls,” the artist shared.

Aya returned to the stage with the band "Gorod 312" at the anniversary music award "Golden Gramophone" in November 2025, where she performed the song "Ostanus’."

The band's press service published a video of this performance on their Telegram channel, noting that the lead singer had been absent from the group for two years and seven months.

In the spring of 2023, the band suspended its performances. Shortly after that, Svetlana Nazarenko announced a break in her career, and a new vocalist, Diana Makarova, took her place.

As for Svetlana Nazarenko's personal life, she rarely shares details. It is known that she has a daughter, Ekaterina, who graduated from MGIMO.

In the show "Avatar," Aya mentioned a close relationship with comedian Timur Batyrtdinov, but did not clarify whether this relationship was romantic or friendly. In one of her performances, she even mentioned his name in the song "You Left Me."

“I spoke the truth: about what we had, that he left me. For the last three years, we stopped communicating, even congratulating each other on holidays. Everyone had their own worries and affairs,” she noted.

Now Aya continues her rehabilitation, stretching daily and using a treadmill.

As she said, she can now walk independently, although she sometimes needs support.

Her colleagues from "Gorod 312" did not leave Aya in her difficult time — they regularly visited her in the hospital and continue to cover her medical expenses.
