The Speaker of the Parliament urged journalists and bloggers to stop spreading rumors about the deputies
At a recent meeting, the Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh, Marlen Mamataliev, announced the salary of the deputies, which is 58,432 soms. Additionally, there is a fund of 80,000 soms allocated for the deputies.
During an interview regarding digitalization, the speaker was asked about the salaries of the parliament members. He noted that his answer was misinterpreted and widely discussed in society, prompting him to clarify.
“The salary of the deputies is 58,432 soms, and there is additionally a fund of 80,000 soms that goes towards the maintenance of the official vehicle, fuel, driver’s salary, and handling numerous citizen inquiries. We also often travel to the regions, and just the round-trip flight can cost around 10,000 soms. These funds are spent on work-related needs,” Mamataliev explained.
He also added that sometimes personal funds have to be added to the specified 80,000 soms.
Furthermore, the speaker urged bloggers and journalists to refrain from spreading rumors about possible changes in the composition of deputies or their departure.
