After the rains, mushroom foragers have started actively searching for the blue-footed mushroom, also known as the violet-legged mushroom.

Residents of the foothills of the Chui region report that these mushrooms are already appearing in large quantities. "Blue-footed mushrooms can withstand frosts down to minus five degrees Celsius and adapt to sharp changes in weather. They prefer meadow and pasture areas, as well as forest strips where poplars and oaks grow. These mushrooms often form large colonies, creating long paths or circles," local residents share their observations.

Biologist Irina Stezhko explained that the "blue-footed mushroom" or violet-legged mushroom is a popular mushroom in Kyrgyzstan with a characteristic purple or blue stem. "This mushroom requires mandatory thermal processing—it must be boiled before frying or canning. Its taste is mild and pleasant, reminiscent of champignons, with a fruity aroma. The blue-footed mushroom positively affects metabolism, supports immunity, and helps eliminate toxins, which is beneficial for the gastrointestinal tract and cardiovascular system," she said.
