The crisis center shared the story of a woman who became a victim of domestic violence.
Aizirek, a 30-year-old resident of Kyrgyzstan, endured violence from her husband for eight years. In this marriage, she has four children. According to her, at the beginning of their life together, everything was fine, but soon her husband began to show excessive jealousy, which led to scandals and conflicts.
“Every action of mine became a reason for a quarrel. He often raised his hand against me, and in our home, beatings, screams, and constant fights became the norm,” Aizirek shares.
The woman also noted that her husband threatened her. “He said, ‘If you leave, I will kill you, I will burn your parents’ house.’ These words scared me not only for myself but also for the children,” she added.
Despite the constant violence, Aizirek struggled for a long time to make the decision to leave, hoping that her children would not grow up without a father. However, over time, it became difficult for her to watch her children live in an atmosphere of fear and conflict.
“He humiliated me and said, ‘Where will you go with four children? Who will help you?’ I began to lose confidence in myself,” the woman recounted.
Aizirek remained silent about her suffering for a long time, fearing judgment from those around her. However, in the end, she decided to seek support from the crisis center.
Employees of “Sezim” emphasize that such stories are common, and many women endure violence for years without the courage to speak about their situation and ask for help.
