The city court overturned the previous sentence and sent the case for reconsideration
Today, the Bishkek City Court overturned the decision of the Oktyabrsky District Court regarding former Tokmak mayor Maksat Nusuvaliyev, sending the criminal case for a new review.
Following this decision, Maksat Nusuvaliyev, along with other participants in the case, was released from custody and is now under house arrest.
For reference, the Oktyabrsky District Court had previously found Nusuvaliyev guilty of corruption, sentencing him to 13 years in prison with confiscation of his property.
Interestingly, before his appointment as mayor of Tokmak in May 2023, Nusuvaliyev held the position of head of the Department of Transport and Development of Road Transport Infrastructure in the Bishkek City Hall.
