In 2025, the courts reviewed 1196 cases related to domestic violence
A comprehensive set of legislative initiatives aimed at protecting women's rights and preventing cases of domestic violence is being implemented in the Kyrgyz Republic, as reported by the Supreme Court.
According to judicial statistics, in 2025, 1196 cases related to domestic violence were reviewed, representing a 24 percent increase compared to the previous year.
Judges note that this increase may indicate both the ongoing relevance of the issue and improvements in the detection of offenses, as well as growing trust in the judicial system.
A key document in this area is the National Strategy for Achieving Gender Equality by 2030, which includes improving legislation, strengthening mechanisms for victim protection, and expanding women's participation in political and public life.
