On the territory of the village of Baytik, located on the outskirts of Bishkek, the construction of a new campus of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after Boris Yeltsin is planned. Deputy Minister of Science, Higher Education, and Innovations Bekbosun Borubashev shared this information at a meeting of the Education Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh held on March 16.

As Borubashev noted, the agreement to establish the new campus was signed in October 2023 during the visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Bishkek.

The Government of Kyrgyzstan has allocated 30 hectares of land for this project, while the Russian side will take on the responsibilities for the construction of the campus and the creation of the necessary infrastructure. The Kyrgyz side will need to address issues related to land rights and engineering communications.

The project will be implemented in three phases: the first phase is scheduled for 2026–2028, the second for 2028–2030, and the third from 2030 to 2032.

The project is currently in the ratification stage in the State Duma.
