The sports events in the capital are enriched by a new occasion — on April 5 at 10:30, the first championship in Nordic walking will kick off in Karagachevaya Grove. This event is open to everyone, allowing both beginners and experienced athletes of various age groups to participate.
The championship is organized by the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of the Bishkek City Hall in collaboration with the Federation of Sports Tourism of Kyrgyzstan. The event is supported by specialized institutions, the Nordic Walking School "Eurasia," and the sports club of the KRSU named after B.N. Yeltsin.
Participants will need to cover a distance of 5 kilometers with a time limit of one hour. The competitions will be held in both the absolute category and five age categories, starting from youth aged 18 and ending with veterans over 70 years old. Winners in the absolute category will receive trophies and valuable prizes from the ATHLETEX PRO store, while participants who place in their age groups will receive medals and certificates. Additionally, a man and a woman with the best walking technique will be awarded separately.
Special equipment will be required for participation; however, the organizers have arranged for the rental of walking poles at the starting point. The entry fee is 800 soms, with a discounted price of 500 soms for students.
For those who want to master this sport or improve their technique before the competition, free open training sessions will be held in Karagachevaya Grove on March 22 and 28 at 12:00. This is a great opportunity to learn the correct walking technique under the guidance of professional instructors and confidently prepare for the start on April 5.
