The celebration begins early in the morning. Believers perform ablution, put on clean and beautiful clothes, and head to the festive prayer — Eid prayer. Before the prayer, it is customary to give alms — sadaqa or fitr-sadaqa, to help those in need and share joy with others.

On this day, Muslims strive to show generosity and care for those who are in need.

Sadaqa on Eid al-Fitr reminds believers of the importance of gratitude to the Almighty for the completion of fasting. By helping others, they share their joy with those who need it.

Ignoring those in need is also not advisable — helping the poor and giving alms is mandatory if one has the means.
