During his visit to the Jalal-Abad region, the Mufti of Kyrgyzstan Abduaziz Kary Zakirov visited the village of Bai-Munduz, the birthplace of the outstanding religious figure and former mufti Chubak Aji Jalilov. He visited the father of the deceased and the place of his burial, offering prayers.

Zakirov emphasized the significance of Chubak Aji in the field of Islamic education in the region. "Chubak Aji is not just an outstanding scholar; he is a truly phenomenal personality. He was a respected Kyrgyz theologian throughout Central Asia. During his tenure as mufti, he initiated many important reforms. The muftiate continues to follow his principles, especially regarding the reform and transparency of the Hajj. His teaching method, based on the 'question-answer' format, is still in demand among Muslims," said the mufti.

Additionally, it was announced that a republican Quran recitation competition will be held on April 1-2, 2026, in the city of Manas. The event is organized with the support of sponsors and the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kyrgyzstan (DUMK) in memory of Chubak Aji Jalilov.

Chubak Aji Jalilov (1975–2020) received a deep education in both religious and secular fields. He graduated from the Islamic University of Kyrgyzstan named after Hazrat Umar, studied Arabic at the International University of Umm al-Qura in Saudi Arabia, and also at the Faculty of Sharia of the same university. Later, he became a Master of Theology at the Kyrgyz State University named after I. Arabayev and defended his doctoral dissertation at the International University of Kyrgyzstan.

Brief overview of his career:

- 1995–1998 — Arabic language teacher at the J. Balasagyn National University;

- 2005–2007 — Expert of the World Islamic League for Central Asia;

- 2008–2010 — Head of the Fatwa Department of DUMK and lecturer at the Islamic University;

- 2010–2012 — Supreme Mufti of Kyrgyzstan;

- 2014–2020 — Member of the Council of Ulema of Kyrgyzstan;

- 2018 — Elected member of the World Council of Sunni Scholars.

Chubak Aji Jalilov passed away on July 11, 2020, due to pneumonia.



In February 2026, President Sadyr Japarov proposed posthumously awarding Chubak Aji Jalilov the title of "Hero of the Kyrgyz Republic" in recognition of his contribution to religious education.
