In connection with the rising tensions in the Middle East, the Mufti of Kyrgyzstan, Abdulahiz Qari Zakirov, has issued a statement to the pilgrims currently in Saudi Arabia.

“The situation in the Middle East is extremely tense at the moment, and flights intended for the sacred pilgrimage have been canceled, which has led to force majeure circumstances,” noted the Mufti.

He urged compatriots who are currently in Mecca and Medina for minor pilgrimages to understand the situation and follow the instructions of the companies and leaders of Umrah. “Patiently wait for the situation to be resolved and for flights to resume. During this time, we hope for your prayers for peace, the unity of the Ummah, and the development of our country,” added Zakirov.

The Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kyrgyzstan (DUMK) also strongly recommends that Kyrgyz citizens planning a pilgrimage monitor the current situation and consider traveling only after the situation in the region stabilizes.

Furthermore, the Mufti reported that the authorities are taking all necessary measures to ensure the return of Kyrgyz citizens to their homeland.

The escalation of the conflict began on February 28, when Israel and the United States launched a series of air and missile strikes on Iranian cities and military facilities. In response, Tehran attacked Israeli and American military bases in several countries in the Middle East. In the first hours of the attack, several high-ranking Iranian officials and military personnel were killed. U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed the launch of the military operation "Lion's Roar," announcing that Ayatollah Ali Khamenei had been killed.
