The winners of the competition have been determined in the cities.
In Bishkek and Osh, women entrepreneurs will receive grants of 5 million soms to implement their business ideas. These cities served as the venues for the final of the competition organized as part of the Swiss project "Araket".
The final stages of the competition took place in Osh on February 24 and in Bishkek on March 2. The pitching sessions were a key moment where participants presented their ideas to receive small grants for business development. The main goal of the event is to support women living in new buildings in both cities and to promote their economic independence through entrepreneurial initiatives.
As a result of the selection, 11 winners were chosen in Bishkek and 5 in Osh, each of whom will receive financial support to start or expand their business. The grant amount for each participant ranges from 200,000 to 350,000 soms, and they will also be provided with the necessary equipment to launch or scale their business.
The ideas presented by the winners cover a variety of areas, including:
- Beauty salons;
- Educational centers for children;
- Culinary and pastry workshops;
- Sewing studios;
- Centers for recreation and household services;
- Fitness clubs;
- Design studios;
Thus, within the framework of this project, 16 business initiatives will be supported for a total amount of up to 5 million soms.
The "Araket" project is funded by the Swiss government and implemented in Kyrgyzstan by the consulting company GFA in collaboration with local partners in 11 new buildings in the cities of Bishkek and Osh.
