On March 31, an exhibition dedicated to ebru — the art of painting on water — will take place in Bishkek. This was announced in a message from the Kyrgyz National Museum of Fine Arts named after Gapar Aitiev.

The exhibition is organized by the public fund "Ebristan" with the support of the Turkish Embassy in Kyrgyzstan and will be an important event symbolizing the cultural unification of the two nations.

Visitors to the exhibition will not only be able to admire the works of masters but also participate in workshops. During these sessions, the creation of the flags of Turkey and Kyrgyzstan, as well as the symbol of the Batken region — the Aigul flower — will be demonstrated on the water's surface. This will give the audience a chance to personally observe the process of the birth of this amazing art.

Ebru is an ancient Turkish art based on painting on water. It involves creating patterns using insoluble paints on a thickened liquid, after which the image is transferred to paper, fabric, or wood. This technique, also known as "Turkish marbling" or "dancing paints," combines elements of meditation, improvisation, and the uniqueness of each print, allowing even beginners to create true masterpieces.
