In the vicinity of the village of Karingen, located in the rural district of Kyz-Köl in the Suzak region of the Jalal-Abad province, local hunters killed four wolves in one day from a total pack consisting of eight individuals.

They managed to eliminate the leaders of the pack.

Kubanychbek Almatov, who organized the hunt, reported that he received information from hunters in the village of Kara-Köl about a location where the wolves were seen resting. Following the hunting trail, he ventured into the steppe, discovered the pack of eight wolves, and immediately notified local hunters.

“Around noon, I noticed that the wolves were moving in a group. There is a hunter named Shamsi living in the village of Karingen. I informed the group of hunters, and they prepared the horses. More than ten people actively participated in the hunt. We caught the leaders and large wolves. Due to the wooded area, we were unable to catch all eight at once. By following the snowy tracks, we found footprints of eleven wolves, but I only saw eight of them. These predators are not so easily captured,” he said.

The group of hunters led by K. Almatov is actively engaged in culling wolves and jackals in the Suzak region. Last year, they eliminated 130 jackals. At the request of local residents, who suffer from attacks by predators on small livestock, the hunters joined the fight against jackals.

According to a resolution from the government of Kyrgyzstan, monetary rewards are provided for the culling of predatory animals: 6,000 soms for a wolf, 1,500 soms for a wolf pup, and 2,000 soms for a jackal.

After submitting all necessary documents, hunters receive rewards credited to their personal accounts: 4,800 soms for a wolf, 1,600 soms for a jackal, and 1,200 soms for a wolf pup, taking into account tax deductions for the Social Fund and income tax.
