In Batken, a group of classmates who celebrated 20 years since their graduation raised funds to install an arch.

Graduates of the school in the village of Sogment, located in the Altyn-Beshik rural district of Batken, decided to install an arch at the entrance to their native village to commemorate their 20th anniversary after finishing their studies.

The total cost of construction amounted to over 600,000 soms.

According to Azamat Ergeshov, one of the graduates, each of them contributed 20,000 soms. "We, the graduates of 2006, decided to do something useful for our village in advance. Many guys will be leaving for different places by spring — for work and other matters, so we didn't want to wait until May 25 and started implementing our ideas earlier. In the future, we plan to improve the area around the arch. For now, the initiative has been taken on by the men, without involving the girls," he added.
