Construction has begun on a two-story residential building in Osh, which will include 54 apartments intended for graduates of the family orphanages "Lotus" and "Altyn Uya."

According to information from local authorities, the apartments will be provided to graduates for free use for a period of up to 10 years. Each apartment will have an area of 25 square meters and will be fully equipped for comfortable living.

The mayor of Osh, Jenishbek Toktorbaev, reported that this housing was initially planned for homeless citizens. However, after the renovation of the old neurological dispensary building on Atabaeva Street, those in need of housing were accommodated there. "From 2006 to 2025, 20 children have graduated from orphanages in Osh. Of these, 15 live in Osh, one in Bishkek, and four in Russia. 15 graduates living in Osh do not have permanent housing, which has led to the implementation of special measures. For such children, the state plays the role of parents," the mayor noted.

He also specified that the new building will have 26 one-bedroom and 28 two-bedroom apartments. Two graduates who have already started families will be allocated two-bedroom apartments, while the others will receive one-bedroom units. Additionally, if graduates start families, the city administration will assist in organizing wedding events.

The construction is being financed from the local budget, and it is planned to be completed by March 25.

In 2025, 15 children from the "Lotus" and "Altyn Uya" orphanages are expected to graduate, and in 2026, another 9 children—5 from "Lotus" and 4 from "Altyn Uya"—are anticipated to finish their time at these institutions.

The local administration leadership has already familiarized itself with the progress of the construction work.
