In a recent podcast organized by the "Kabar" agency, the mayor of Kyrgyzstan's capital, Aibek Junushaliev, discussed the situation with constructions located in close proximity to the landfill.
“Reducing the sanitary zone will open up prospects for the legalization of housing; however, our main goal is to transform this area into a full-fledged industrial zone,” he noted.
Junushaliev added that if the "garbage mountain" is successfully eliminated, conditions suitable for living in this area may be created in the future.
