He noted that this winter, Bishkek has repeatedly found itself in the "green zone" for air quality.
During a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, the speaker of the parliament emphasized that the Bishkek city administration has done significant work this year to reduce air pollution and deserves recognition.
According to him, this winter season, the capital has been marked several times in the "green zone" for air quality for the first time in many years. This indicator is determined based on the level of pollutants: the fewer harmful particles, the higher the category—from hazardous to green, which is considered safe for health.
“It is important to note that this year the usual dense smog, as in previous years, has been less noticeable. The city authorities analyzed the causes of the problem, took necessary measures, and applied various approaches in their work, which yielded results. We must be able to express gratitude when work is truly being done,” the speaker noted.
Nevertheless, he added that the issue of smog has not been completely resolved, and air pollution is still felt. At the same time, compared to previous years, the situation has significantly improved, and work in this area continues.
