However, the residents are persistently opposing this initiative. "The decision to rename causes us serious dissatisfaction. A survey was conducted in our village chat, and only 15 people supported the renaming, while 140 opposed it. Despite this, our opinion is not taken into account," they noted.
Furthermore, the residents emphasized that local authorities held a meeting on January 22 at 10:30, when most people were at work and unable to attend.
They believe that such a way of organizing meetings violates the principles of openness and participation, especially when it comes to issues affecting the interests of the local population. According to available information, the initiative to rename may be promoted in the interests of one influential person and in honor of his father, which raises serious concerns for us," the residents added.
The villagers are appealing to higher state authorities to pay attention to the violations and exclude the issue of renaming the village of Dmitrievka from the agenda.
