During the meeting of the International Affairs Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh, Deputy Minister of Construction, Architecture, and Housing and Communal Services Samat Janteliyev presented a project for the construction of five new schools and seven educational buildings in Bishkek, as well as two educational institutions in the Chui region. The project is being implemented with the help of a loan from the Saudi Fund.

Deputy Kurmanalieva emphasized the need to create not only state educational institutions but also specialized schools for children with special needs. According to her, the number of children with Down syndrome and autism in the country has significantly increased.

“These children cannot attend regular schools and kindergartens. It would be wonderful if educational institutions focused on such children appeared in regional centers. Many families cannot afford to pay for education in private institutions. I am ready to propose ideas or criteria for the construction of such schools. The situation is exacerbated by the fact that among my relatives, there are children with Down syndrome and autism who do not have the opportunity to attend schools and kindergartens with the necessary conditions. I realize that this is not only the task of the Ministry of Construction but also requires joint work with the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Health, as training specialists for these organizations is also important,” she added.
