Deputy Umbetaly Kydyraliev urged not to give a different interpretation to working issues.

At the meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh on February 11, he reminded that on February 9, there was a meeting of the committee dealing with agrarian policy, water resources, subsoil use, ecology, and environmental protection.

Kydyraliev noted that in a conversation with Bakyt Ergashovich, he emphasized that according to international law and the decisions made at the UN conference in Rio de Janeiro in 1992, water flowing through the territory of Kyrgyzstan is an economic resource. He asked the question: "Are we receiving economic compensation for the water that passes through our country?" Torobaev's response was that an interstate commission operates with Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, through which neighbors provide assistance and funds for the repair of hydro facilities and dams. This is a matter of great geopolitics. However, now friends from Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan are wondering why he raises the topic as if Kyrgyzstan is planning to sell water. Opposition structures on the international stage have misinterpreted his words. These are merely working moments between a deputy and an official, but they are given a completely different meaning. "We have agreements under which we provide them with water, and they make concessions to us on other issues. These are working moments," the deputy emphasized.
