“I regret that in the last two weeks, events have occurred in Kyrgyzstan that have disrupted the stability and tranquility of our lives,” he stated. In his opinion, the cause for concern arose from disputes regarding the terms of office of President Sadyr Japarov and the possibility of holding early elections. These disagreements led to a number of significant events, including an appeal from 75 public figures, their interrogations, arrests, the dismissal of Kamchybek Tashiev and his deputies from the GKNB, as well as the resignation of the Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh, Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu. Additionally, President Sadyr Japarov appealed to the Constitutional Court.
“As a citizen of Kyrgyzstan, I am sincerely concerned about the political situation in the country, and therefore I support the president's appeal to the Constitutional Court. I expect that the court will issue a lawful, justified decision that will help resolve all disputes. This will allow us to continue peaceful development leading up to the upcoming presidential elections, which will be determined by the Constitutional Court,” Erkebayev noted.
He also added that every citizen of Kyrgyzstan is obliged to comply with the Constitution and laws, to promote national unity and the development of the country, rather than provoke conflicts.
“This is especially relevant in a year when Kyrgyzstan is hosting important international events, such as the SCO summit, the World Nomad Games, and the 'Issyk-Kul' forum. The attention of the global community is focused on our country,” he concluded.
