According to information from law enforcement officials, Nurgazy Anarkulov was detained today, February 17, at the border with Kazakhstan while attempting to enter Kyrgyzstan.

Preliminary data, which requires official confirmation, indicates that he was calling for support for early presidential elections in the country, communicating with some former deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh, who partially confirmed this information.

It is worth reminding that in January 2021, Anarkulov, who previously held the position of head of the information policy department of the presidential administration, was detained by the GKNB on suspicion of extorting a large bribe. The investigation claimed that, using his official position, he demanded money from a candidate for a high state position in exchange for assistance with the appointment, after which he was relieved of his duties. Later, he was placed under house arrest, and prior to that, he was dismissed from his position.
