Four citizens of Kyrgyzstan are serving their sentences in Italy

At the meeting of the committee on international affairs, defense, security, and migration, the Deputy Attorney General of Kyrgyzstan, Umutkan Konkubaeva, reported that four citizens of the country are serving sentences in Italy for organizing illegal migration.

In her speech, she noted that according to official information, there are 2,800 Kyrgyz citizens living in Italy. However, according to the consulate, this number reaches 5,000. There are 1,552 citizens registered with the consulate, of which 500 are studying at higher educational institutions in Italy.

The Deputy Attorney General added that extradition measures are currently being taken regarding one citizen of Kyrgyzstan. She believes that signing a new agreement on mutual legal assistance in criminal matters will contribute to improving legal cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Italy.

As a result of the discussion, the deputies unanimously approved the draft of this agreement.
