The President of the United States, Donald Trump, expressed his opinion on the possibility of a "friendly takeover" of Cuba, as reported by Bloomberg.

According to him, the authorities in Cuba are actively negotiating with the American side.

"As you know, the Cubans are currently facing serious problems. Financial resources are running out. They are in a difficult situation, yet they continue discussions with us. It is quite possible that in the future a friendly takeover of Cuba could happen. I have heard about Cuba since childhood, and perhaps after many years we will be able to achieve something positive for the people," the U.S. president noted in a conversation with journalists.

According to Trump, Cuba appears to be a country facing difficulties, and Secretary of State Marco Rubio is actively working on resolving these issues.

In the past, under pressure from the American administration, Venezuela stopped exporting petroleum products to Cuba, which led to a crisis in air travel and a significant reduction in tourism programs.
