The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic expressed serious concern over the escalation in the Middle East

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan has expressed its serious concern regarding the recent escalation in the Middle East. In a statement, the ministry noted that Bishkek is closely monitoring the rising tensions and calls on the international community to unite efforts for a peaceful resolution of the conflict.

Kyrgyzstan emphasizes the importance of strict adherence to the UN Charter and international law. Official Bishkek has strongly urged the parties to the conflict to exercise restraint, immediately cease hostilities, and take all possible measures to return to constructive dialogue. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stresses that the resolution of the current situation must be achieved solely through peaceful means.

It is worth recalling that it all began on February 28, when a joint air operation of the US and Israeli armies took place in Tehran. As a result of a series of airstrikes, key figures in the Iranian leadership were eliminated: Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Mohammad Pakpour, and Secretary of the Defense Council Ali Shamkhani.

On the morning of March 1, Iranian state television confirmed the information about the deaths of its leaders, declaring a 40-day mourning period and a seven-day weekend. Soon after, a temporary governing council was established in Tehran under the leadership of President Masoud Pezeshkian, while the international community began to express concerns about the potential destabilization of the situation in the region.
