According to him, Mexico is the main hub of drug cartel activity in the Western Hemisphere.

Trump noted, "Mexican cartels are a source of significant violence and chaos in our region. We will do everything possible to protect national security and the safety of American citizens."

"We must completely eradicate them, as the situation is worsening. The cartels effectively control the country," he added.

It is important to note that Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum previously emphasized that she would not allow the US to conduct military operations on Mexican territory.

At a meeting with leaders of several Latin American countries in Florida, Trump stated, "Today we announce the creation of a new coalition to combat criminal drug cartels."

The head of the White House also emphasized that coalition members agree to use the military to fight drug traffickers.

Journalists noted that representatives from Colombia, Brazil, and Mexico itself were absent from the meeting. Donald Trump reported that President Sheinbaum rejected US proposals for joint action against the cartels.
