As reported by Turmush correspondent, as a result of the voting, none of the candidates managed to secure the support of the majority of deputies.
Two candidates were nominated at the session:
- Askhat Talant uulu — from the "Emgek" faction;
- Emilbek Satarbaev — self-nomination (from the "Adilet" faction).
A counting commission was formed from among the deputies for the voting, after which a secret ballot was held. 37 deputies participated in the meeting.
The voting results are as follows:
- Askhat Talant uulu received 20 votes;
- Emilbek Satarbaev garnered 16 votes.
According to the rules, to be elected as chairman, a candidate must receive the support of at least 21 deputies. Since none of the candidates reached this threshold, the elections were declared unsuccessful. Moreover, according to current regulations, these candidates cannot re-nominate themselves for the same position within the current process.
Therefore, a ten-minute break was announced.
