The government urged Kyrgyz citizens not to hide their livestock from the state

The government of the country is preparing for an agricultural census.

At a coordination meeting dedicated to the upcoming agricultural census, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry Erlis Akunbekov urged the citizens of Kyrgyzstan not to hide information about their livestock. He emphasized the importance of accurate data for conducting the census.

Akunbekov noted that some residents may misunderstand the purpose of the census and fear that providing information about their livestock or poultry will lead to denial of social benefits or the imposition of taxes. This misconception could hinder the collection of necessary data.

The minister added that the agricultural census is critical for determining the actual number of livestock in the country, which, in turn, will assist in organizing animal vaccinations, planning veterinary activities, and ensuring the availability of necessary vaccines.

The census in Kyrgyzstan is scheduled to take place from March 20 to April 10. Local self-government bodies and territorial statistical divisions will participate in its organization.

During the census, data will be collected on sown areas, pastures, farm buildings, yards, as well as on the number of livestock and poultry.
