At a coordination meeting dedicated to the preparation for the upcoming agricultural census, Erlis Akunbekov, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of Kyrgyzstan, urged citizens to provide accurate data on the number of livestock.

He noted that some citizens might mistakenly hide information, not realizing the true purpose of the census.

As the minister emphasized, misunderstanding may lead people to conceal the number of their livestock or the state of their farms, fearing that it could affect their eligibility for social benefits or taxation.

Akunbekov highlighted the importance of the agricultural census for obtaining accurate information about the livestock population in the country. Such data is necessary for organizing animal vaccinations, proper planning of veterinary activities, and ensuring an adequate supply of vaccines.

In this regard, he once again called on citizens to be honest when filling out data about their livestock, the state of their farms, and the area of their land plots.

The minister also noted that the results of the census are of great significance for the correct planning of the national economy and the development of effective agricultural policy.

The agricultural census in Kyrgyzstan is scheduled to take place from March 20 to April 10. Local self-government bodies and territorial statistical units will participate in its organization.

During the census, data will be collected on sown areas, pastures, farm buildings, yards, as well as on the number of livestock and poultry.
