At a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, the President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, stated that the deterioration of the image of deputies is not related to the actions of ministers or his own, but rather to the behavior of the elected representatives themselves.

These words were a response to the remarks of MP Eru lan Kokulov, who pointed out the significant decline in trust towards the parliamentary body and urged the president, as the guarantor of the Constitution, to help raise the status of the parliament.

In the president's opinion, the deputies themselves must realize their responsibility.

“You raise insignificant issues on the podium, and sometimes you allow shameful things, forgetting about solving the pressing problems facing the people. There are times when deputies approach ministers with personal requests. But if you advocate for the interests of the population, the ministers will definitely find time for communication and joint problem-solving,” he added.

Eru lan Kokulov also expressed dissatisfaction with the fact that ministers often avoid meetings with deputies, unwilling to receive them. “I spend a lot of time waiting at checkpoints to get into the ministries. Such an attitude towards elected representatives is unacceptable,” he emphasized.
