After the end of his parliamentary career and the events of 2020, Nishanov was appointed chairman of the board of OJSC "Kyrgyzneftegaz", and in April 2023, he was re-elected to this position.
According to sources, there is a possibility that after the interrogation, Nishanov may be detained. It is worth noting that the Ministry of Internal Affairs had previously announced the initiation of a criminal case under Article 336 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, concerning corruption, in connection with possible violations at OJSC "Kyrgyzneftegaz".
The investigation has focused on materials published in the media, particularly videos from an investigation by the State Tax Service titled "Oil for Themselves: How 'Kyrgyzneftegaz' Was Ruined". These materials pointed to possible unlawful actions by the company's employees.
According to the investigation, employees of OJSC "Kyrgyzneftegaz" may have abused their official positions by creating illegal schemes for the sale and distribution of fuel and lubricants in collusion with affiliated companies. The Ministry of Internal Affairs also reported that against the backdrop of rising prices for fuel and lubricants in the country, conditions have emerged that facilitate the illegal enrichment of some related companies.
Currently, investigative actions are ongoing with the involvement of specialists from the State Tax Service.
