France will ban officials from using Zoom for video conferences
The French government has decided to prohibit its officials from using video services such as Zoom, Teams, and Google Meet. This was reported by Politico, citing information from the office of Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu.

The article emphasizes that "public servants in France will be banned from using American platforms for organizing video conferences."

Officials explained that this measure aims to exclude non-European solutions and to ensure the security and confidentiality of public electronic communications through a reliable and sovereign tool.

As an alternative, French officials will be recommended to use the Visio platform, which was developed by the interdepartmental digital technology management (DINUM).

Currently, about 40,000 civil servants are already using Visio, and DINUM intends to increase this number to 250,000 in the future.

Earlier, the minister responsible for public service, David Amiel, stated that by 2027, France plans to completely abandon American video services as part of efforts to strengthen digital sovereignty and optimize public spending.
