“Three of my close relatives died in a traffic accident. This happened in 2006 when drunk drivers entered the oncoming lane. They were driving a 'Moskvitsh' and collided with our car, which led to a rollover. My younger brother and sister-in-law died on the spot, leaving behind four children. Although they sustained various injuries, they survived, and now they have grown up and started their own families,” Japarov recounted.
“In addition, in 2019, my eldest son also lost his life in an accident. This happened because the driver, perhaps, did not know the rules or wanted to take a shortcut, overtaking on a double solid line, and hit my son. As a result of this collision, he rolled over and died,” the president added.
The traffic accident in which Dastan Sadyr uulu lost his life occurred on August 22, 2019, in the village of Kok-Jar, which was then part of the Alamudun district.
At the time of the accident, Dastan was riding a motorcycle and was traveling along 7 April Street. Around 22:25, he collided with a Toyota Matrix. After the impact, he bounced off and crashed into a Lexus 330.
The young man fell into a coma and passed away on the morning of August 26, never regaining consciousness. According to initial reports, the driver of the Toyota was deemed responsible for the accident. Sadyr Japarov forgave him.
