An employee of the Ak-Suu Electric Networks has been detained in the Issyk-Kul region on suspicion of extorting a bribe. This was reported by the press service of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan.
According to the SCNS, on January 29, engineer K.M.A. was detained for receiving a bribe in the energy sector.
It is reported that she demanded money from the owners of tourist enterprises in the Ak-Suu district to reduce the fine for the absence of a seal on the electricity meter.
Based on the collected evidence, K.M.A. was placed in the temporary detention facility of the Internal Affairs Department of the city of Karakol for 48 hours. Further investigation is underway.
