- The State National Security Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic has discovered that the daily regulation reservoir (DRR) located in the Issyk-Ata district was unlawfully privatized. This information was announced by the press service of the GKNB.

“Based on the transfer act signed on November 30, 1999, this reservoir was illegally transferred to the agricultural production cooperative 'Pakhary.' Then, in 2021, according to Decision No. 28 of the head of the Ivanovsky rural council of the Issyk-Ata district, the reservoir was again transferred to the SPC 'Pakhary,' which led to the issuance of a state certificate of private ownership,” the press service clarified.

As a result of operational actions, the unlawfully privatized water infrastructure facility was returned to state management and transferred to the structural unit of the Ministry of Agriculture — the Issyk-Ata Water Management Department,” the GKNB added.

According to the GKNB, such reservoirs were actively constructed during the Soviet period to provide irrigation water for agricultural lands. Their main purpose is to accumulate water during periods of excess, such as in winter or during rains, and subsequently use it during dry times.
