In the city of Kant, police officers detained a woman working at a pawnshop on suspicion of embezzling funds amounting to 4 million soms.
According to the press service of the Main Internal Affairs Directorate of the Chui region, on January 11, they received a statement from a citizen, T.K., who requested action against the pawnshop employee known as U.P.
The suspect, while performing the duties of an appraiser and cashier, was issuing fictitious loans at inflated values, appropriating the money disbursed.
The investigation established that this crime took place from November 2024 to December 31, 2025.
Based on the collected materials, a criminal case has been initiated under Article 210 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, concerning the appropriation and embezzlement of entrusted property. The detainee has been placed in a temporary detention facility.
The investigation is ongoing.
