
It is reported that on October 29, 2025, during joint raids conducted by the police of the Jayil district and activists from the public organization "Kalinin Interdistrict Society of Hunters and Fishermen," individuals engaged in poaching were identified. Firearms were seized from the detainees, for which there were no permits.
The weapons were sent for forensic ballistic examination, which confirmed that the seized rifles are rifled firearms, specifically single-shot hunting rifles of the models TOZ-16 and TOZ-8.
A criminal case has been initiated regarding this incident under Article 267 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, concerning illegal trafficking of weapons and ammunition.
On February 16, 2026, in accordance with Article 96 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, the men named M.M. and K.R., born in 1988, were detained. They are currently in a temporary detention facility.
The investigation is ongoing.
