The event was organized with the aim of enhancing public safety, identifying illegal arms trafficking, preventing incidents involving firearms, and combating domestic violence.
As a result of the raid, violations of storage and re-registration rules for firearms were discovered, which led to the temporary seizure of two traumatic pistols that were transferred for safekeeping to the Internal Affairs Department of the Kara-Kulja district. Additionally, during the explanatory work, three citizens voluntarily decided to surrender three units of smoothbore hunting firearms to the police.
Special attention during the raid was given to the issue of domestic violence. Citizens were informed that the illegal storage and use of firearms in the context of domestic conflicts could lead to serious consequences for family members.
The Internal Affairs Department of the Osh region urges citizens to surrender illegally stored firearms, ammunition, and explosives to law enforcement agencies. Citizens who choose to do so may be exempt from criminal liability.
