In the Nookat district, two individuals voluntarily decided to hand over firearms to the police, according to information provided by the press service of the Osh region's Internal Affairs Directorate.

According to the agency's data, a preventive raid called "Arsenal" was organized at the Nookat District Internal Affairs Department. The aim of the event was to prevent incidents related to firearms and to identify illegally stored weapons. Emphasis was also placed on explaining to citizens the inadmissibility of using weapons during family disputes.

During the operation, police officers held discussions with registered firearm owners, reminding them of the importance of complying with laws regarding the storage and use of firearms. Additionally, the possibility of voluntarily surrendering illegally stored weapons to the internal affairs authorities was explained.

As a result of this event, two citizens handed over firearms along with ammunition to the police. Among the surrendered items was one rifled weapon of the TOZ-8 brand. Two firearms were also temporarily seized due to the death of their owner and were transferred for safekeeping to the district internal affairs department until a final decision is made on this matter. Protocols were drawn up against three citizens for violations of storage and re-registration rules, and they were fined 9,000 soms each.
