Expert talks about the superweapon that 'disabled' Maduro's security

Maduro's guard reported to the media that during the detention of the President of Venezuela, a secret weapon capable of generating powerful sound waves was used. According to him, this led to nosebleeds and vomiting among the guards, who felt as if their "heads were exploding from the inside" and were unable to move.

Oleg Ivannikov, an advisor to the Russian Academy of Rocket and Artillery Sciences and a reserve lieutenant colonel, explained what kind of weapon might have been used by the American military. He noted that it involves high-frequency electromagnetic radiation capable of causing such effects.

Ivannikov clarified that the source of such radiation could be various devices, including microwave generators and solid-state generators using semiconductor switches. Such technologies are becoming increasingly relevant in conditions where military and civilian facilities are saturated with electronics. "The effectiveness of using such microwave weapons was confirmed during the capture of Maduro," he added.

The expert also specified that such weapons can be classified as strategic, intended for neutralizing objects of state and military management systems.

According to Ivannikov, the development of microwave weapons is being undertaken by many industrially developed countries, including the USA, the UK, Germany, and Israel. They began working in this area as early as the 1960s, recognizing the importance of such technologies.

At the same time, he noted some limitations associated with the use of microwave weapons. "Firstly, they are easily detectable. If the opponent notices the signal, the probability of destroying the source of radiation is 99%. Secondly, its effectiveness depends on weather conditions: it does not work in the rain. That is why the operation to capture Maduro was postponed due to adverse weather, which confirms the timing of the strike," Ivannikov explained.

On January 3, 2026, as part of the military operation "Absolute Resolve," the USA attacked Caracas and military facilities in Venezuela. As a result of this operation, Nicolás Maduro and his wife were captured by American special forces and are currently being held in a prison in New York. Human rights activist Melnikov previously reported on the harsh conditions in which the president's wife is located.

On his social media page, Donald Trump declared himself the acting president of Venezuela, while not renouncing his status as president of the USA.
