According to information provided by the press service of the General Prosecutor's Office, a criminal investigation has been initiated in the Uzgen district against police officers.
On January 3, 2026, employees of the Kurshab rural police department, taking advantage of their official position, unlawfully detained two citizens, using physical force without ensuring the necessary procedural documents. As a result, one of the detainees, citizen A.B., suffered serious health injuries.
The Prosecutor's Office of the Osh region initiated a criminal case on January 5, 2025, under Articles 130, Part 3, Clause 2 and 338, Part 2, Clause 4 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. The case has been transferred to the investigative department of the Main Directorate of the State National Security Committee for the city of Osh and the Osh region for further investigation.
At present, three police officers — "S.H.", "A.A." and "I.K." — have been detained and, by court decision, are in custody for a period of two months, during which investigative activities continue.
The criminal case is under the control of the Prosecutor's Office of the Osh region, which has issued instructions for conducting the necessary examinations. Upon completion of the investigation, legal decisions will be made in accordance with the Criminal Procedure Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
