According to the Interior Ministry of the Issyk-Kul region, operational groups engaged in the voluntary surrender of firearms that are in illegal circulation continue their work in the Ton District as part of the event called "Arsenal".
During these activities, one of the residents of the village of Ala-Bash noticed that while grazing cattle in the cemetery area, a firearm of the "TOZ" brand was hidden. According to him, he initially did not pay attention to it, believing that the gun belonged to someone else. However, later, during a raid, he reported the discovered hiding place to the police and indicated its exact location.
The weapon found and surrendered to the police was registered in accordance with established procedures and sent for forensic ballistic examination. Operational activities as part of the "Arsenal" raid continue in the district.
The law enforcement agencies are calling on citizens to voluntarily surrender illegally stored weapons and ammunition. It is also reminded that those who voluntarily surrender weapons are exempt from criminal liability under current legislation.
