In the Talas region, employees of the State Committee for National Security (GKNB) uncovered a case of extortion involving T.R.Z., a senior investigator of the criminal investigation department. According to the state committee, the police officer, using his official position, pressured a citizen, T.N.T., for a long time, demanding money under the threat of criminal prosecution.
T.R.Z. was detained on February 21, 2026, during operational activities conducted jointly with the Ministry of Internal Affairs' SVR, when he received part of the bribe amounting to 100,000 soms.
Currently, the arrested individual is in the temporary detention facility of the Talas city police department, and investigative actions are ongoing to identify possible accomplices in this crime.
