According to information from Senior Bailiff Ulukbek Tashbolotov of the city department of the Bailiff Service under the General Prosecutor's Office, the situation began to unfold following a court ruling on April 8, 2022. According to this ruling, 39-year-old T.Sh.A. was required to pay child support amounting to 50% of his income to K.Sh.A., starting from April 18, 2018.
Despite this, for several years the man did not comply with the legal requirements. By March 2025, his debt had risen to 700,000 soms. Due to his constant evasion of payments, the bailiffs took steps to initiate a criminal case under Article 178 ("Evasion of parental support for children") of the Criminal Code.
On November 27, 2025, the Manas City Court imposed a one-year probationary supervision on the accused.
However, as noted by Tashbolotov, the prosecutor's office and judicial authorities decided to review this decision. On February 26, 2026, the judicial panel for criminal cases of the Jalal-Abad Regional Court revoked the probation and tightened the punishment. As a result, T.Sh.A. was taken into custody right in the courtroom and sentenced to 2 years of imprisonment.
