The incident occurred on March 14 in the Kolmo residential area of the capital. A man left his car inadequately locked when he went into a store around 1 PM. During his absence, the criminals broke into the car and stole a mobile phone and 200,000 soms. After committing the crime, they fled in a Hyundai Sonata.
A criminal case was initiated regarding this incident under Article 205 ("Theft") of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Officers from the criminal investigation department of the Main Department of Internal Affairs of Bishkek quickly tracked down the suspects. They turned out to be three individuals, previously convicted and registered as pickpockets: B.K., born in 2000, N.R., born in 1996, and E.A., born in 1991. All three were placed in a temporary detention facility.
According to law enforcement, the detainees rented a car and drove around the city looking for unlocked vehicles. It has been established that they may be involved in more than ten similar crimes.
Additionally, police tracked down a local resident who was engaged in buying and selling stolen phones in one of the shopping centers. Nine mobile phones, presumably obtained through criminal means, were seized from him.
