In 2025, 18 minors committed suicide in the Jalal-Abad region

In 2025, 18 cases of suicide among youth were recorded in the Jalal-Abad region. This was reported by Deputy Venera Salyamova at a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh.

According to her, this figure exceeds last year's data by two cases.

“On January 10, 2026, in the Bazar-Korgon district, one of the eighth-grade students took his own life. As far as I know, his parents are migrants and were abroad,” the deputy added.

She emphasized that state institutions working with minors must pay special attention to children's safety, conduct necessary research, and determine what psychological difficulties young people face, especially those whose parents are in migration.
